Custom publishing project work samples

Image of custom publishing projects

Custom publishing traditionally requires a team, because after all, no one person can do the writing, editing, photography, illustrations, design and proofreading.

And even though I can do each one of those things on a scale of 2-10, I truly believe that clients deserve much better than a 2 in any skill. And not even the best writer should publish without a second set of eyes on his or her work.

That’s why I have partnered with Blue Coast Media Group and a network of experts to collaborate on custom publishing projects. Nothing I ever write for a client will go to press without an inspection by expert eyes.

Newsletters

2013 First Tee Newsletter (year-end fundraiser: created story list, stories and photos; oversaw design; proofread)

GottaGoGolf May 2015 eNewsletter (Constant Contact: chose and customized template, created story list, stories and photos; built mailing list; distributed)

Fall 2015 Women’s Golf Alliance (collaborated with client to obtain content; rewrote content; supervised design; supervised editing and proofreading)

GottaGoGolf November 2015 eNewsletter (Constant Contact: chose and customized template, created story list, stories and photos; built mailing list; distributed)

Websites

These are the sites I conceptualized and mapped, tested and designed, and continue to maintain daily:

SusanFornoff.com (Dreamweaver, and now WordPress)

BlueCoastMediaGroup.com (WordPress)

GottaGoGolf Magazine (Joomla, and now WordPress)

These sites are not currently active, but I conceptualized, mapped, edited and maintained them:

HerGolfStuff (WordPress)

Alternative Golf Association (SocialGo)

Digital magazines

These appeared on the writing samples page because I did much of the writing. But I also conceptualized the themes, made assignments, obtained or assigned images and illustrations, managed the budget, oversaw design, edited and proofread, created press releases, managed social media messaging and sold advertising. And more:

Western Publishing Association, finalist, Best Digital Edition: GottaGoGolf Magazine (July 2011)

Other issues of GottaGoGolf

Books

For these projects, I did writing and/or proofreading, supervised the editing process and cover design process, created press kits and social media copy, did outreach to media outlets, formatted and uploaded eBooks:

Confessions of a Golf Slut (2013)

“Lady in the Locker Room” (2014 update)
